Points

I finally "cashed" in some membership points I earned from American Express and got 25 songs from iTunes.

Sometimes I'm in the mood to purchase singles, but of course, this time I had an itch to buy whole albums. When I tried to purchase a full album, iTunes gave me a prompt that said I didn't have enough credits and that my credit card would be charged. Weird, because I had 17 song credits and Ray LaMontagne's "Trouble" only had 10 songs. I did buy the whole album, but I bought it per song.

There were some albums I really wanted with 15 songs at $9.99, but it didn't make sense for me to buy it with my `per song' credit. Honestly, I think the song credit system is a little wonky. I guess that new "Complete my Album" feature can bail me out. Plus, at startup iTunes stated that I could only buy songs sold for $0.99. My credits do not expire till Oct, but I'm guessing the new $1.29 EMI songs are off limits. Lame.

Here's what I've purchased so far. Mostly oldies, but some crazy pop songs too:

  • All the Wild Horses - Ray LaMontagne Trouble

  • Jolene - Ray LaMontagne Trouble

  • How Come - Ray LaMontagne Trouble

  • Hannah - Ray LaMontagne Trouble

  • Forever My Friend - Ray LaMontagne Trouble

  • Burn - Ray LaMontagne Trouble

  • Narrow Escape - Ray LaMontagne Trouble

  • Hold You In My Arms - Ray LaMontagne Trouble

  • Shelter - Ray LaMontagne Trouble

  • Trouble - Ray LaMontagne Trouble

  • Cheryl Tweedy - Lily Allen Smile - EP

  • Absolutley Nothing - Lily Allen Smile - EP

  • Hot Child in the City - Nick Gilder And Time Machine Longtime Coming

  • Suddenly I See - KT Tunstall Eye to the Telescope

  • Cupid - Sam Cooke Greatest Hits

  • It's Too Late - Carole King Tapestry

  • Jump - Van Halen 1984 (Remastered)

  • Stickwitu - The Pussycat Dolls PCD

I have 7 more credits. What songs should I buy?

New Addictions

As I mentioned, I'm back on to the online world. Since my Super Sweet 16 post I've done the following:

  • Joined Twitter

  • Added info to my Facebook - still not sure if I like this

  • Wrote a long overdue review on Yelp

Anything else I'm missing?  Oh, the one thing I never set up - a MySpace page!

I'm Back!!!

I'm going to have some time on my hands since my big HGTV project is about to end - woo hoo! I hate facing the unknown, but what can I do? I don't have another job lined up and I'm a bit stressed about that. But I guess it's my chance to do something productive around the house.
I had a feeling my chocolate posts would have a moment of pause, and I honestly hope to get them up and running on a different site. That'll be a fun project.

Right now I'm going to focus on updating this homepage and remodeling my home. Change is good, right?

BTW - I'm really back, this is no joke ;)

What I Did this Saturday...

Tom left today for the Consumer Electronics Show and he'll be gone till Thursday. Meanwhile, I have a little downtime with nothing scheduled this weekend. Well, I did a little work in the morning, but other than that, nothing.

Unfortunately, I plopped myself on the couch, channel surfed and found "My Super Sweet Sixteen" on MTV. I felt a little dirty after watching it.

Months ago, I do remember watching an interview with Anderson Cooper who admitted to liking the show. Then I saw the Scarlett Johansson's parody on SNL. But I had never seen the show. Today I finally got my wish and now I'm sorry.

I caught part of one episode where the girl of the evening (I think her name is Alex) has no idea who the "special" guest of the party will be. She lives near Detroit so naturally rumors flew around that Emminem would be the surprise. Nope, sorry lady. The pan to Alex completely bummed and surprised that no one good showed up. OMG!!!! Talk about spoiled. Oh, but at least she got her new BMW from Daddy.

Next was Cher. She planned a Mardi Gras theme for her bash. No special guest at this party, but she toured a Jaguar store with her Dad before the party and secretly admitted that she will be upset if she didn't get the 96K red Jag.  Geez!  Well, she got the car.  What a shocker.
