Raising Arizona

Our jaunt is over (cue the violins), so sad. Attending spring training games was the hook, but truthfully, we just wanted to hang out with our friend Doug and Pauline.

spring training '08

Highlights:

-watching the games wearing shorts and flip-flops!

-Dinner every night. Yeah, we ate well: (Mi Nidito, La Roca, and Don & Carley's)

-crossing the Mexican border on foot and crossing train tracks in the dark to get to our destination: La Roca restaurant

-meeting a young Cuban defector who is now playing for the White Sox = Alexi Ramirez

-our last day at the Westin Kierland Hotel & Resort - it's nice to enjoy a little luxury livin'

Every time I travel I try to envision living in the area. But I have to say, Arizona is just not for me. This girl has gotta have the ocean nearby!

This long weekend was a nice break from the construction and complete chaos in our home, but it's nice to be back and reunited with our Jango :)

I couldn't even imagine living that far from the sea. How do those people live???

Is this baseball trip something you guys do every year? Are there many other people who do the same thing? I find it so intriguing.

you know, we don't do it every year. that's mostly because of me and my desire to see as many new places as possible while i'm on this earth.

however, it's been about 3 years since we've gone to spring training and I felt it was time to go back (not to mention get away from my house while under construction).

and yes, TONS of people travel to Arizona for spring training.
