Why I don't post

I think I don't post on this blog, because I haven't been inspired. I think about posting all the time, but something always stops me.  I'm online constantly. I read other blogs, and I find cool websites to visit. Still, nothing originates from the keyboard to this website.

Well, something has inspired me to write today. I've been writing personal reviews on Yelp and that has jumped started my writing. So, we'll see if Yelp is the catalyst to maintain this blog.

Oh, the other thing about this blog. Too many spam comments. Gotta fix that.

PS - for some reason I can't get that new Christina Aguilera song out of my head.

Soul Patrol!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, I haven't posted in a while and that's because I've been pre-occupied by moving to Oakland and rooting for Taylor Hicks!!! And he won last night!!!! I'm still on a high because of it.

Some people are going to think i've gone mad, but I absolutely love Taylor. He always brought a smile to my face every week while I watched him perform. It's hard to explain how millions of Americans have embraced a gray-haired, white, funky soul-singer who doesn't look like your typical "Idol" - but I am defintely a fan. I had so much fun watching Idol this year and I'm going to miss Taylor Tuesdays!

I believe this is the performance that sealed the deal.

UPDATE - I guess they took the link down, so I'll throw up Taylor's original audition instead.

And if you don't like it, I guess you got no soul!

Sick...Again!

Ugh. It's Saturday night (just before midnight) and I just returned home from a fun birthday party. Why did I leave? Because I'm losing my voice and because I'm sick...again! Ugh! Everytime I finish a huge History Channel project I get sick. I get sick either before, during, or right after production ends. I thought I escaped, but yesterday it hit me like a ton o' bricks.

I think the Nyquil is starting to work....more stuff to do....tomorrow. Goodnight!

Jesse James

Jesse James

Originally uploaded by EileenRose.

Reading this blog you may have guessed I'm a TV Producer. I don't normally talk about it, mainly because I'll probably just bitch and complain about the long hours and low pay. I don't really want to do that, so I usually decide to make a brief mention long after the shoot is over.

However, today I feel compelled to talk a little bit about my recent shoot. The photo I've uploaded is from my latest production I finished called "A Plot to Kill Jesse James". It's my second western in a year.

We were on location in Easton, Kansas and St. Joseph, Missouri - 2 great towns with lots of friendly people (well, most of them - wish I could elaborate, but maybe next time). If you happen to need a western town, check out Western Frontier Adventure - good people, great little old west town, and great re-enactors.

The shoot was pretty ambitious, with a lot of loooong days, which is pretty typical for TV Production. It's an hour show and it should air around the same time that the Brad Pitt movie is released.

I really wish I had kept a journal about my daily experience, but I pretty much passed out whenever I got back to my hotel room. Although I had a lot of fun shooting a Colt .45 (safely into an open field), hanging out with really cool cowboys, and petting horses, I think I'm done. I'm just not really into westerns. Sorry guys!

Overall, I had a good experience, but I'm so glad to be home.

Keys Please!

Short post from me, but I'd like to report that we got our keys today! Yay! Tom and I are officially homeowners. Damn!

We're a movin' on up!

I wish I wasn't so tired because of work. I would've been less delirious and able to really enjoy the moment. Nevertheless, I'm so happy, and maybe it hasn't hit me yet that I'll be in debt for the rest of my life. Hmmmmm......
